CardCase , Get Broader Network and Create Less Garbage

I have been trouble whenever there is a seminar, conference or diaspora meetup, and i don't have my card with me.

It happened once before, or maybe twice, or more. I was in gathering where everyone were exchanging their card as a way to keep in touch with the rest of the group. I took couple of the card that I know I would need to keep contact with them. It was little bit weird when I had to write my number or email in a piece of post it or paper and handed it out to the other. I felt so beginner lol

Having a business card is one thing, but keeping all the card safe and clean also one thing we need to do.

When I first find out about this app, I thought this is a great way to share your businesses card with other. At the same time, less paper is being used. If you could contribute even little bit to the environment, why choose something that could contribute in destroying the earth? That is what I thought.

What is the app?

Card Case is an app that use the nearby technology of Google to share or exchange business card with other. The card is digitally done. It is not like you print the card as usual, but then scan in and save it in our device. Everything is done within your device.

Install and Use it

User do not have to create an account to use it. Instead, download and install the app, as shown in the picture below :

Click on Create Your Card , you will be directed to the page where you need to insert your personal information that you want to display in your businesses card. For example, I will type my name, email, and phone number. Take a look at the upcoming image, I can still add another information in the next row under my phone number

After inserting the info :

You can also add image for your business card. Click on the image tab above your name, it will direct you to upload image from your local repository.

If you have finished uploading your picture, your card will look like something below :

If you want to edit or update your information, you still can edit your card but clicking on the edit tab.

So far, you have finished the step of creating your card. Now, I will shw you how to exchange the card with other.

Exchange the Card

To start exchange your card, click on the button in right corner of the page as shown above. The app will search for any user nearby

Once the app found another user, it will ask whether you want to keep card of another or not. Let say I accept the car from Berbard, it will look something like this

Then I click on agree sign to keep the card.

If you have exchange more cards, then in your repository will have lot more card, not just only one like the one I have here,

Look for another card? Do you want to exchange with another business partner of your? Then you need to search nearby user again, as I have explained above.

Overall Review*

The app is simple and so easy to use. You don't have to worry about loosing your personal data after sign up for using the app - which I have heard some people were afraid for that. It is great that such app has help to create better environment as you do not have to print your card, share with other, when what you have printed so far has all been shared to the other, then you will have to print another sets of business card.

But, there is a but...

People , at least those I know and have met so far , they do not really use the app as what I expected. I found only couple of people have use to app and they all have faced the same problem, they wish everyone knows the app and we can just digitally share it.
