Roaming in The City Getting Easier Using OpenBikeSharing

OpenBikeSharing is an application that enable user to find the station of bike sharing. The app listed more than 30 countries in the world, with more than 400 cities coverage.

When I found out about the application, I think it will so helpful not only for the local residence, but especially for tourist who wanna roam around the city. They can use the application to find out the bike sharing station where they wanna take one, also find the closest bike station to leave the bike after using it.

How to install it?

First you need to go to Google playstore, and find OpenBikeSharing. Then download it and follow its instruction. It won't take too much time, just a minute or less

Once you successfully download it, you will be asked to select the bike network, as shown in the image below

Click "OK" On the pop up message shown there. Then, you will be directed to another page where all the bike networks are listed. You can use search button (in the right above) , and simply type the city or the bike network that you are looking for.

As soon as you finished selecting the network, you are also done with the basic step toactivate the app

What can I use it for ?

As it mentioned above, the application can be used to find the bike station. As far as the station is listed in the app, you will find the station and the information about the bike there

If you see something similar to the image below, you see that there are couple of things you need to know about this page. In the red circle, you can use the button to search the station. The yellow circle will lead you to a map, while the blue one is referring to refresh page and setting page. Setting page allows user to re-select their network and so on

In the right corner, you can also choose All Station , where it will listed the bike networks within your network. Choose one of them. Let say you are in Berlin and you choose the station of Alle der Kosmonauten / Meeraner Strasse. You will see something like the image below :

If you click the direction button, next to the star in the right corner above the app, you will be directed to the map, where it will show more than just a location of the bike network.

Advantage of using OpenBikeSharing

1. The app is simple and easy to use
2. It provides not only about the bike, but also the map will show the place nearby. Including restaurants and places to visit in the same region of the bike network. One click and you will have number of information.
3. Its new feature has more language translation, such as Hungarian, Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish
4. It can be used by anyone anywhere. For example, user want to travel to Copenhagen while she is in Tokyo, she can access the bike networks and pan her future trip within the city of Copenhagen. And it can be part of her travel itinerary.

Hope to see more cities listed in the app, and travel will be much easier
