Translating Dollar Street into Russian, Part 1 (2240 words)

Project Details

This is a project by Gapminder foundation, who with a team of photographers visited 264 homes in 50 countries collecting 30,000 photos to show how people with various income levels live in different regions of the world. Homes were sorted by income, from left to right. The poorest homes to the left, and the richest homes to the right.

I made up my mind to help translate this project as it is very crucial and useful for everyone to know and see how families with completely diverse background and income live, what problems they face, what is their routine life and how they survive in this world.

I encourage other translators to participate as it is very vital since we get to know other cultures and way of life, without the need to physically visit those places. So help spread the word in your own language so that your people could see and think about remote families, homes and destinies.
