I will say I don't agree with this on the basic merits. One of the beacons to blockchain technology is that it's censorship-resistant. To impose an age wall (which would be imposed how exactly by Steemit, which would now have to become a central authority for censorship)? would not only elicit a standard bereft from most of the world-wide-web now, but would damper the velocity for adoption. Sites like VICE (which insists that you'll be paid to watch porn)and eventual copycats will most likely off-load the moral data argument away from places like this and d.tube. Alcoholic beverage sites have a litebox because they have to, not because their morally desiring to inform the public of the obvious. Having a call-to-action radio button that is are you 18 is innocuous, and by the measure of building out an age wall to kids that says "don't come here" is going to draw them here more. Having the query box does nothing but infuse an old rubicon into a platform attempting to move away from old and failed states of thinking in the communication space. Places like Steemit are a deliberate effort to move away from the gross, corrupt, and inadequate web of the past 15 years, which took away the free and decentralized web of the previous 8 before that. I elect not attempting to force horse-carriage technology into an automobile.
