My List Of The Top 5 Subtitle Editors Available On Ubuntu Linux

If you want to edit subtitles of your videos or movies, you need to use a subtitle editor. And today, I will review and introduce you to the top 5 open source subtitle editors to use on Ubuntu or on a Linux distribution. These programs have many features and advantages ranging from editing subtitles colors to synchronizing to voice in a video.

1- Gnome Subtitles

Gnome Subtitles is an amazing subtitle editor for the GNOME interface and supports the most common tasks related to text including subtitle editing, translation support, and voice synchronization.

Some supported subtitle formats are: Advanced Substation Alpha, FAB Subtitler, MicroDVD, Mplayer 1/2, MPSub, SubRip, SubViewer 1 / 2.

  • To install Gnome Subtitles on Ubuntu, open the Ubuntu Software Center, search for gnome subtitles program, and then click Install; or you can execute the following command in the terminal:

sudo apt-get install gnome-subtitles
