Hi @steevc, thank you for your contribution to the Utopian anti-abuse initiative.

Fighting abuse is indeed a community effort. I see your activity on SteemD and SteemWorld and all I can say is

Thank you for setting a good example on the blockchain

Your post highlights the risk of flagging. And I laud the encouragement to continue fighting abuse even without considerable SP.

Creating quality content, community engagement and reporting abuse are great examples of fighting abuse without being on the flagging front.

The Utopian anti-abuse team look forward to your next contribution. We would like to see a dolphin-view of fighting abuse on the platform and what kind of abuse you are most adamant about.

Thanks. I think this is a vital topic on Steemit and I'll be talking to people about it at Steemfest whenever I can.

Thank you for your review, @lovenfreedom! Keep up the good work!

I try not to get involved in flagging because of my low SP (and threat of retaliation - sad isnt it!). Its sad to see abuse going on and not being able to do much about it - I mean there are services out there trying to cleanup the blockchain which is great!

Moving the flag button on Steemit would be a good move. Some of the other dapps make it even less obvious how to flag.

I think blacklists can have a function if the vote sellers work together to deal with abusers. Obviously need trusted people to manage them, but I don't see the harm.

@heimindanger is bigot trash who refers to people as "fag". Look at his comment history and you'll see just what a piece of shit he truly is!!

I'm with you on this one. it's as if people conspired to make democratized content curation a taboo. I myself am scared as shit to "flag" people because my SP makes it easy enough for dipshits to take it personally and downvote me back as retaliation.

The upvote/downvote UI on dtube should be normalized everywhere else. And maybe we can change how people address downvotes as "flags". Flags imply centralized censorship, downvote is decentralized.

For a moment i thought my day was gonna either be way better or worse.. turns out its bot-bernie :(

This is a great initiative that you are a part of. Flagging is something that a lot of people see as scary, but if used in the right way it can be a real benefit to the system. Thanks for doing what you can to try to make things better.

I'll be reading more about @steemflagrewards. I wanna be a part of this.

Resteemed for more awareness.

Cheers. We need more people to be part of it to show it's not just some small gang out to cause trouble.

It'd be nice if Ned stepped in and flagged some abusive accounts.

FYI - Ned is powering down.

What is he doing with it?

I read somewhere he's powering down 2 accounts, I confirmed one of them, that's all I know. Check his wallet and draw your own conclusions.

Edit: I'm not willing to speculate at this point, but he has enough already sitting there for a new Mercedes.

Must be buying new gifts for a certain someone. jk

Here is something to chew on, no joke. https://steemit.com/fiction/@etherpunk/a-short-essay-in-100-posts Maybe I should publish my videos this way; one frame at a time. Hmm, let's see, 25 FPS X 60 seconds X 10 minutes = 15,000 posts. Maybe I should switch to HD instead of 4K so I can shoot at 60 FPS, lol!

Oh great. The classic "water is wet" Kevin Wong.

He's up to #8 already so we can read the entire Shipost in about 10 days, lol.

Another good post for the Utopian-io antiabuse initiative. Thanks @steevc for this post and for all the wonderful work you do daily!

Of course some people take this flagging personally and I've seen some say it's a 'crime'

Yeah some people take it way to personally! We are within our rights to flag content and thats how the community is suppose to manage the system. The bigger crime is that people constantly produce sup par content and abuse the system and get away with it

Yeah i have seen so much account with this kind of think and they are saying that we have invested so why we help other And lots of more excuse at one place they are right they have invested too much fund they should also be get some earning

I don't mind people earning if they put out something of value. They can earn by curating or by delegating to others who may pay them. Just churning out spam harms Steem.

unless steem is reformed it will never succeed.... it is concentrated decentralization, which is toxic

Don't forget that it's made of people. I met a lot of them this week who give me confidence. It's not just about money

sounds good, i just don't know why it's so hard to get a positive message consistently across on steemit... maybe it's just the nature of decentralization

Try real comments to get somewhere. This is considered spam. Your vote has little value, so your comments should have more.

I would bet if we dig in on that account we will find more abuse.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

It's better to just talk to @yehey about it.
