Hello Steemit! Today, as an opening, we will try a very hot, timeless and always controversial: Five reasons why MAC is better than Windows, and vice versa.

5 Reasons why Mac is better than Windows:

1. Immediate operation: One of the things that differentiates Mac from Windows is that when you get the product from the box you can start using it instantly and in a simple and fluid, while Windows computers are full of programs Provided by the manufacturer, most of them useless, which make the performance drop pretty.

2. Security and viruses: MAC's operating systems, being less widespread than Windows, are less vulnerable to attacks. This is not to say that they are safer, but there is less malware to be their use less widespread than Windows.

3. Intuitive applications and operating system: Apple being the manufacturer of its own devices and operating system, the applications are best distributed in their products, there being a balance between the device and the operating system that makes its use is much more intuitive.

4. Design and quality: one of the strengths of Apple and MAC is its attractive design and the quality of the materials with which its devices are manufactured. Having between your hands any Apple product is experiencing a sense of sturdiness and quality in the manufacturing materials that I personally have not experienced with other brands.

5. Productivity: For me, the most remarkable thing about Mac. If we focus on the operating system, I think OS X wins by landslide to any Windows. The number of keyboard shortcuts that we can use with a Mac is infinitely superior to Windows among many other things.

5 Reasons why Windows is better than Mac:

1. Price: Normally, computers with the same features as Macs are quite cheaper. For a basic user, this is a point in favor of acquiring a Windows PC.

2. Open operating system: Windows users have the option to build a computer with components selected by themselves, being able to choose between a wide range of brands, components and qualities depending on the needs that they have.

3. Compatibility with more programs: the software development companies are much more Windows-oriented than OS X, because Windows is the most widespread operating system and the most used, especially in companies, whose management programs are almost all based In MS-DOS, which makes the Windows operating system an option that offers more alternatives in this aspect than OS X.

4. Optimized for the most "gamers": computer game fans have a suitable operating system in Windows to play. Although OS X is improving in this aspect, it is still light years from Windows and it is difficult to even someday.

5. Hopeful future expectations: the imminent exit of Windows 8 is generating enough anticipation, as some of the rumors that are appearing indicate that it has quite a chance of planting face to OS X Mountain Lion and that will suppose a Revolution for radical change in its architecture, performance and appearance.

I started on Windows then used MacOS for a bit before going back to Windows. I then experimented with various Linux distros and a few Unix flavors. Unix did not meet my use case so I ended up settling on Fedora linux.

I found MacOS not as flexible as Windows. As the post mentioned, on a Mac you always have to wonder is there a Mac version of program X (same issue with linux but at least, the community comes up with alternatives). Also, I think the desktop environment could be improved on Macs.

Windows had the obvious problems of getting bloated over time and security issues. Too bad Windows 10 comes with a lot of bloat out of the box. It also seems no matter how fast your hardware is, Windows will find a way to run slow, haha.
