Hello and welcome to this exciting blog post.
There is no doubt that we are in the internet age. A large chunk of the human population has access to the Internet one way or the other. The internet age brought alongside smartphones. These smartphones are just like a mini-computer in your hands with the number of applications that can function on it. Part of these applications is the social media applications. A good percentage of youths are on one Social Media platform or the other. These platforms are mostly for connecting with others but have seen a major rise in photo-sharing. Instagram, for example, is a photo-sharing social Media platform and has led to many users taking countless pictures to upload on Instagram.
Taking a picture of yourself is not enough, you need to make some adjustments such as cropping, editing, merging and so on.
Many applications possess some of these features but only a few possess the merging feature. Instead of you being able to merge pictures you will only see the collage feature.
That is why PhotoAffix is the right option for merging photos.
Introducing PhotoAffix
PhotoAffix is an Android application that merges two or more images together. It is a simple lightweight application devoid of advertisements and it is open-source. It merges the images together while still maintaining the quality. PhotoAffix possesses some amazing features that make it easy to use.
Simple interface- The application user interface is easy to understand. PhotoAffix being a one function application means you are not bored about extra features that will make the application bloated. You can easily select the pictures you want to merge and AFFIX them together.
Features list
PhotoAffix allows you to merge images either horizontally or vertically. Of course, this is a basic function of any photo merger application, but PhotoAffix is different. One of the advantages it has over others is the absence of watermarks. Most of these merging applications do include watermarks in the merged photos. This is not the case with PhotoAffix.
You can decide the amount of space you want in between the merged images both in the vertical and horizontal mode. This feature is called image spacing.
Clicking on the image spacing will allow you to select a figure between 0 and 100 for both the horizontal and vertical mode. This is one feature I like in PhotoAffix that I can't find in other similar applications. I find it useful in situations where I have to join multiple images together for educational purposes. I can choose my desired image space which will be visible and will let whoever is seeing the merged image to know that they are merged and not a single image. You can see that it is very useful.
The other feature is selecting the desired background color. This feature is called background fill and it is applied to the image spacing that I explained above. The space between the images need a background color and with background fill, you can choose any color you want.
There are a host of predefined colors for users to choose from.
One thing I like about this feature is the ability to select your own color rather than the predefined colors. There is a hexadecimal space where you can input your color code and you get the color immediately. You can also toggle with the ARGB color model. These combinations allow you to produce a wide spectrum of colors. You can choose the level of Alpha Channel (A) that you want. This is the transparency value. It shows how transparent you want the color to be. R is red, G is green, and B is blue.
Dragging the sliders will give you different colors.
The last feature gives users the ability to scale images either from smallest to largest or largest to smallest. This is a major feature that most similar applications do not possess. The images you are merging are not always of the same size. You have images with smaller width and height vice-versa. PhotoAffix allows you to choose which image to scale first. Do you want the smaller image to be scaled first followed by the larger one or larger to smaller?
Selecting either of the two will give different results with the smaller image looking bigger or smaller as the case may be.
Setting these parameters and clicking AFFIX will display 2 further options before merging the photos. You can set the photo quality and also choose which format you want the photo to be. You can either select Png or Jpeg format.
Conclusion
PhotoAffix is a great application with amazing features that make it desirable for uses out there. It includes important merging features that make it a complete application for anyone to use.

Hello, @zoneboy! Thank you for your contribution. Although I have seen and used a similar application before, there are some unique features I see on Photoaffix that is not present on the other mobile/Android editing application. Nice sharing this.
On the content side, it was a little bit cumbersome understanding some paragraphs. For example:
For nerds, who don't know what "Instagram" is, a link to their website would help them better understand. I am aware that Instagram is a very popular social media, however, adding a link (hypertext "instagram") won't hurt and that would improve your blog readability.
While I like your formatting, I want to suggest that you be more elaborative and detailed when describing the features the application has. Remember, you are not just sharing your personal view, you are also promoting the project.
I look forward to your next contribution.
