I have lost count of how many times I have heard someone indignantly claim that Trump is to blame for the lack of vaccines and treatments early in the pandemic and that Biden came along as savior.
For what it is worth, the inconvenient truth on this is exactly the opposite. Whatever he said, Trump laid the groundwork for worldwide vaccine development, while Biden's policies inhibited this and the development of treatments.
Speaking for myself, this is not an endorsement of Trump's actions (using taxpayer money to underwrite vaccine development) or of Trump the man and all of his presidency - especially the end. It is just a condemnation of the kind of infantile linear thinking that is going on everywhere around us.
