While the World continues to demonize those that choose not to vaccinate their children as narcissistic and selfish individuals who could potentially be a threat to the lives of immune-compromised children, it seems they may be pointing the fingers in the wrong direction.
Studies clearly show that those people who have received the DTaP vaccination are still acting as carriers of the pertussis virus, only rather than displaying symptoms so everyone knows they should keep away they display no obvious signs of infection – They are Silent Carriers, which to an immune-compromised child is the worse possible case.
A study by BMC Medicine concluded that:
Although a clear role for the previously suggested mechanisms still exists, asymptomatic transmission is the most parsimonious explanation for many of the observations surrounding the resurgence of B. pertussis in the US and UK. These results have important implications for B. pertussis vaccination policy and present a complicated scenario for achieving herd immunity and B. pertussis eradication. source
But that’s not all, a recent study in the Oxford Academic Journal of the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Society determined that the DTaP Vaccine actually increased susceptibility to Pertussis over their lifetime. They go onto conclude that ‘there is no easy way to decrease this increased lifetime susceptibility’
‘all children who were primed by DTaP vaccines will be more susceptible to pertussis throughout their lifetimes, and there is no easy way to decrease this increased lifetime susceptibility. ‘ source
When you also consider the following news that in the recent outbreak of Pertussis in Los Angeles only the vaccinated children contracted the virus and those un-vaccinated were not involved in the outbreak, The Hill reports:
‘Engelberg also told reporters that only 18 of Harvard-Westlake’s roughly 1,600 students have medical exemptions allowing them to opt out of immunizations. He added that none of those students have contracted the disease.’ source
So in a time when the World appears to be standing up and demanding we all take all vaccinations, without question, without exemption, without accountability, it would seem we have even more reason to be concerned than ever.
Screaming ‘Safe & Effective’ from the rooftops, does not make it so.
