ENTRY 1:

Red roses are a widely known symbol of love, passion and courage, so they are popular gifts for Valentine's Day, like the ones I got here. This is my entry for the VALENTINE'S DAY PHOTO CONTEST 2019 by @flamingirl. I post 3 photos from different angles as proof that they are my photoworks. More details can be provided if necessary.

Here's a bit history and legend about roses. Earliest roses are known to have grown 35 million-years ago, and from ancient Egyptian tombs, petrified rose wreaths have been unearthed.

In Greek mythology, Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, is said to have created the rose. According to the poet Anacreon, sea foam dripping from her newborn body turned into white roses; thus symbolizing her innocence and purity. Later, her wounded lover Adonis' blood was shed onto a white rose, and the red rose represented her desire and passion.

The Romans, with their counterpart Goddess of Love - Venus, also adopted the rose as a symbol of love and beauty. Cupid offered a rose to bribe the God of Silence to hush his mother Venus's affairs. And when he shot arrows at bees which had stung him, thorns grew from the rose stems where the bees were missed.

There's even The War of the Roses. In this civil war in England in the 15th century, the House of York adopted a white rose, while the House of Lancaster chose a red rose. At last, the winner - Tudor Henry VII created the Tudor Rose by merging his Lancastrian rose with the red rose of his York bride. This Rose is also known as the Rose of England.

张爱玲奶奶70多年前在她的小说《红玫瑰与白玫瑰》中留下了这段名言：

也许每一个男子全都有过这样的两个女人，至少两个。娶了红玫瑰，久而久之，红的变了墙上的一抹蚊子血，白的还是“床前明月光”。娶了白玫瑰，白的便是衣服上沾的一粒饭黏子，红的却是心口上一颗朱砂痣。

小说里，热烈的红玫瑰最终转变为贤慧的他人妻，圣洁的白玫瑰却苍凉地失去了自我。哪个更好？哪个更合适？何止婚姻是围城，这世上又有什么重大决定不是呢？

ENTRY 2:

Hey hey, starting from today I'll share some flatlay photos I did. Most pictures I posted here before were from my travels on the road - landscape, people, architecture, etc.. While I also had lots of flatlay photos done when I was at home or in the office. Actually this type of photos are pretty popular on some stock sites. =)

I created the head image here as my entry for the VALENTINE'S DAY PHOTO CONTEST 2019 by @flamingirl. As you can see, the concept is quite simple and straightforward: "LOVE" made by a lipstick, a donut and cut rose petals. :)

Here are the components I got (everything started from the lovely donuts in a supermarket on Valentine's Day ;p):

So I first put the sweet donut covered with little "hearts" on a piece of pink cardstock, and used a red lipstick to write down the letters "L" and "V". Then I cut a rose petal into 4 stripes to make a letter "E". At last, shoot it with my phone. That's it! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! ;)

👆 These are the original colors. With the Pantone color of 2019 in mind, I made the head image into something closer to Living Coral... ;)

嗨~ 今天开始，我打算陆续分享一些自己拍的flatlay照片，这种平铺俯拍片近几年在Ins上和各图库网站比较流行，常见的有一桌好吃的或办公用品、一地护肤品或化妆品、一地图的旅行用品之类。在Steem这一年多来，我发的照片大都是旅途中随性而为的抓拍，好像还没包括这种在家或办公室摆拍小物件的照片。这次先来张“LOVE”主题的平拍，是为参加@flamingirl情人节主题的活动。😊

思路直观，物品简单：

超市买的洒满粉色系💗的甜甜圈构成O + 口红涂的L和V + 剪的4条玫瑰花瓣🌹拼成E

虽然我个人比较喜欢黄绿和大地色系，但这些❤满满的女性化小东西似乎应该搭配粉色的卡纸，放地板上，手机咔嚓一下就完成了。。。 是不是炒鸡容易？🙂 因为Pantone发布的2019流行色是活力珊瑚橙，我又调了张调子暖一点的作为这里的题图。

ENTRY 1:

Hello my dear Steemians!
It's my pleasure to be a part of this Valentines Day photo contest initiated by @flamingirl. I was scrolling my phone when I saw this contest.

Today is February 17 but still considering the fact, this month is a month of Love.
The youngest daughter of my employer gave me a bundle of flowers as a sign of her love to me. She is still 12 years old but she loves me more since I am the one who take good care of her since birth. Her mom and dad was always out of town going to the city for medical reason. Her mom was diagnosed having a breast cancer and she let me promise to take care of her children. Now she survived but the love of the youngest daughter is divided between me and my lady boss. We are all having a good relation. This is my 2019 bundle of roses as a gift to me.

This is my entry, I hope you like my story and these bundle of roses.

ENTRY 2:

Good evening everyone!
Today is the last day of the Valentines day photo contest initiated by @flamingirl.

My real Valentine and love is my son and his family. Last month I spent my vacation to hometown to see my grandchildren for the first time. Because of poverty, I was force to live away from them all. Sad to say that I wasn't there during their wedding and the birth of my two grandchildren. And then we met.

Saying goodbye last February 10',I must go back to my job site in a distance Island. They came with me in the airport.

Last Year we had our valentine‘s day in Vienna. We are married for 13 years now and it‘s like in the first second we met. So valentine‘s day is something special for us.
First we met friends of us in a rooftop Bar in Vienna. The bar is in the 25hours hotel near Museumsquartier. After a fine bottle of Champagner we change into the Mraz and Son , one of our favourite restaurants in the world.

We had 17 dishes in a row, so i will not show you each...

....but i am sure you can imagine, that it was a perfect evening.

Then we had to take a look in one of the oldest wine cellars of Vienna, and for sure, we had to taste one, or two bottles....

This was our valentine‘s day 2018,
