Got this game quite late during the time Playstation 2 was already selling in stores. But i have not bought a PS2 yet at that time and was still playing on my PS a lot.
This game is really the best of the best in terms of pushing the Playstation to the absolute limits. Very nice 2d art style and animations, battle system is just right and music is top quality. Tri-Ace did an amazing job with this game.
I have forgotten that it has voice overs which for the English version, It is actually very good. I know i know there is still tiny bit of cheesy here and there, but probably 95% of it is very good.

There is some recent SquareEnix videos on Youtube which shows Valkyrie Profile on mobile, guess their porting it with new voice overs at least for the Japanese version. Check it out.
