Someone tampered with my tires

in vandalism •  7 years ago

Yesterday while my husband and I was working I notice something off about my tire. Though it was still holding air, I knew the tire was going to need to be replace. There was a gouge in it (sorry I don't have any photos I didn't think to take photos of it till it was too late too) The gouge was really strange looking and didn't look like any type of road damage I had seen before.

So this morning before I went to go get my permits I went to the Tire Place to get a new tire and have them check the other ones to make sure they were okay. The guy comes back and tells me 3 out of 4 of my tires had been tampered with. Tread was cut in a way to break apart at high speeds. He said it was vandalism and very dangerous and if it wasn't an random act of vandalism that someone is trying to kill me. That kind of scared me to be honest.

The reason why that scared me is because I have dealt with a stalker. It has been 7 years since I have heard anything from him, he has finally seem to have let it go and I hope moved on for good from me, but when he said that, my mind went to OMG he is back. Thankfully it is not him he is currently sitting in a Denver Colorado Jail on a no bond hold and has been in there for over a month. But now that leaves me questioning who would do something like this?

My next though was this boy who my daughter date last year who has stalked her a little here and there over the last year since she broke up with him, he has been seen over her a few times over the summer by our neighbor in the early morning hours but hadn't done anything as far as we are aware. And since she has left for college he hasn't been seen at all.

So then I got to thinking could it be my ex-husband, he is mad at me right now. I filed a citation on him because he hasn't been paying his child support. He has a good job there is no reason for him not to pay the ridiculous low amount he is ordered to pay. I never ask for increases just what he was ordered to pay when we got divorced from him low paying job. And he thinks he shouldn't have to help me support him, and I am just tired of making our son wait for things he needs at times. So I recently filed a citation. Would he get that mad at me to tamper with my car that I drive our son in? I hope not but I am totally freaked out that my husband will be installing night vision cameras so we can catch who ever is messing with my car.

If it was random vandalism then hopefully it won't happen again. If someone is trying to harm me, then we will have the evidence on video. It is unreal to hear someone come up to you and say they think someone is trying to kill you. It is unnerving to be honest. I will never get in my car again without inspecting the tires and making sure there is no fluid leaks because now I am also paranoid it will be my brake line that gets tampered with next. I feel lucky I saw the damage on the one tire before getting on the highway. That could have been really really bad.

If it isn't random and I had to bet on which one it is I would say my daughter's ex because I can't fathom no matter how much my ex-husband is mad at me that he would put his son in danger. I would hope he wouldn't. So on top of the house stuff I am dealing with, today I have had to deal with this and process it all.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It must be very frightening and I can fully understand your fear. I hope sincerely that you can find out who did this to you. In the Netherlands we just had a similar case, the woman involved placed camera's but the judge forbade the cameras because of the privacy of the passersby. To be honest, I think cameras, in this case, are a very good idea.

That makes me really happy that I live in the United States where cameras out side your home is common and not illegal in public you have no right to privacy

Wow. That is just aweful. Cameras are a good idea and relatively inexpensive for the benefit. I have had two camera systems that I installed, for other people, catch thieves on video and subsequently used to identify and prosecute them. I hope it is just random. : (

thank you for the thoughtful comment and not spamming me. I hope it was random too, because the thought of either of the other makes me sick to my stomach.

You are welcome... oh the spam... ugg

Damn I have seen these on tv, crazy people mad at their lover or neighbour tampering with the tires...

How they catched them, was setting up camaras. Cathing them at the moment of the act!!

I have racked my brain on who might do this and as far as I know none of our neighbors have any issues with us. But we will have camera's up soon, so if they come back we will catch them in the act.

Great job.resteemd
