I have recently been asked about good guard dogs and my opinions. I was also asked about possible cross between breeds and if that would be a good thing? Well having run through the list of some good possibilities thought it of possible interest to design my own Guard Dog Breed.
This Breed is not in existence - it is a concept Breeding aka designer dog.
This Breed is designed for guarding people's lives.
This Breed is designed for guarding Farms/Ranches.
This Breed is suitable as a companion guard dog.
This Breed is possibly good for Military/Police type work.
This Breed should be easily trained.
This Breed should be courageous. Exceptionally loyal. Exceptionally Intelligent, Large and exceptionally interested in Guarding.
This Breed should have a good lifespan.
What the Vanderwatt Shepard Dog is made up of -
Caucasian Ovtcharka Shepard - http://www.courageouscaucasians.com/breedcharacteristics.htm
Doberman Pincher - http://www.gentledoberman.com/doberman-pinscher-information/temperament
German Shepard - http://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/german-shepherd-dog/detail/
Note: This Breed is a strick breeding and should be made up of the best in quality dogs. Show Quality dogs are what is desirable in getting the most from this Breed.
How to Breed the Vanderwatt Shepard.
A. The Caucasian Ovtcharka which is to be a Sire and it's breeding mate, a Doberman Pincher female.
B. The German Shepard which is to be a Sire and it's breeding mate, a Doberman Pincher female.
From the A. breeding there should come a male X puppy --> Ovtcharka X Doberman [Picture is an example of the A crossing]
From the B. breeding there should come a female puppy --> German Shepard X Doberman [Picture is an example of teh B crossing]
From the Final breeding between the A and B cross would come the Vanderwatt Shepard dog.
This dog should be large, intelligent, powerful, fast, have an exceptional guard personality, loyalty and courage to go above and beyond the call of duty - All character traits which are inherent from it's parent breeds.
