I'm glad that Variety seemed to have, for the most part, come down on the right side of this issue. The right side is "Absolutely not."
It's also odd that the author brought in Mein Kampf as an example. Hitler's book outlined his actual beliefs. I Believe I Can Fly wasn't hateful speech in any way shape or form. It just turns out that Kelly is a bad person.
We can enjoy the art while hating the artist. That's not morally inconsistent.
What's more, if you never wanna listen to Kelly again because of what he did, that's your choice and it should remain that way. It shouldn't be the tech companies making that decision for us.
