So Where Do You Get Your Protein?steemCreated with Sketch.

The human body manufactures ALL of the proteins that it needs to function. Amino acids linked together form proteins. The human body makes all but 7 amino acids that it needs to construct all of its proteins. Those essential amino acids, the ones not manufacture in our body, must be ingested as part of our diet. Dark leafy greens are the source of the amino acids and calcium. There is no need to consume dairy in order to have sufficient calcium. Whatsmore high protein diets tend to deplete bones and teeth f minerals because the acid pressure needs to be buffered. More of that perhaps in another post.

Kristina's lab results are excellent and she has been a raw food vegan for nearly a decade! The doctor mentioned that Kristina is not eating fat, but indeed she does eat fat, just not animal fat.  Seeds (such as chia seeds, flxseeds, sunflower seeds sesame seeds), nuts (such as walnuts, almonds, pecans hazelnuts) and avocado are excellent sources of fats that the body needs. Our brain for example is a mass of lipds and neurons.

I suspect the deficiencies in Vitamin B12 are no more prevelent in vegans than in the rest of the poulation. Who eats dirt? Or if certain gut flora or bacteria are the natural source of our B12 maybe we could just introduce those oraganisms, but I digress.  More research is in order!

Healthy fats are so important! Love how you mentioned the brain--most people don't realize healthy fats are the key to a optimal nervous system!

Hi @chrisboman,

I agee with you regardng the need for fats in our diet. Most Americans, maybe most people, do not take responsibility for their health and barely pay attention to their experiences when it comes to their states of health and how that coincides what they are consuming, or not consuming.

My advice: eat food, not too much, mostly plats.

Please consider adding the tag "health" to all your vegan tagged post. Thank you!

Hi @teamsteem!

Thank you so much. I have corrected my error.
I will try to be more careful in th future. "health" probably should have been the first tag.

Yup! I think this would be wise too!
