A Humanist is a Person having a strong interest in /or concern for human welfare, value and dignity .
Anismalism is the Theory according to wich we are human animals.
After my 4 year old son was asking me why do humans, who kill animals don't go to prison, i was lost for answers.
Because when ever he asks for a ham roll , i tell him that we don't eat our friends.
At the same time here in Austria there is a petition running, that women have the same rights as man. That is a distraught society we are living in.
Wich made me think, that instead of differ why not add all together and create a world reflecting that all beings are the same.
In my eyes it is not right that in christian mythology animals have a soul but no conscious .
So it is okay to keep and treat like shit and then kill them.
AHIMSA - wich means not to injure and compassion , is more to point. This multidimensional concept is inspired by the premise, that all living beings share the spark of the divine spiritual energy- i agree with.
So therefore, to hurt another being is to hurt oneself.
I can see that husbandry , a branch of agriculture concerned with animals that are raised for meat, fibre, milk, eggs...that includes day to day care, selective breeding and the raising of livestock - as humans live in that way with our brothers and sisters the animals, we treat our human brothers and sisters the same. The way we treat our mothers, kids, elders - we are not far away from living like our friends the pigs, chickens.
Look how we treat our kids and elders in homes and hospitals.
The only difference is that we can kill but not murder animals.
i do not think about animals as an IT, because we are becoming an IT too. I plead to be more aware of our relations to animals, nature and mother earth.
