Do you think a plant has the same capacity to feel pain as a cow, pig, chicken or sheep? They don't have a nervous system.
Sit in front of your pet with a pair of scissors and a pot of parsley. Think.. what do you think is more morally wrong - cutting off a stem of parsley or cutting your pet's ear off?
I'm still in disbelief that we are we having this conversation. If this is your logic, what's stopping you from just cutting the heads off dogs and cats and people? Where do you draw your line or are you content that morals are a pointless endeavour and that we should live our lives by tooth and claw with little regard for sentient beings aware of their own existence?
I've been vegan for years and I'm no less frustrated when someone tries to tell me plants have feelings, too.
I very much respect you as a person, but this is the logic of a fool.
Nick
I was expecting someone's answer like yours.
I simply put the irony of this flawed thinking out in the open. Take it or leave it.
I appreciate your compassion for animals btw :)

After some consideration, I'm back. Can you tell me where I am flawed in my thinking?
If plants feel pain and you want to minimise their suffering, veganism is still the best option as meat production requires far more plants to be grown and harvested to feed the animals than if we had just eaten the plants ourselves.
Is it time to concede or do you need further clarification?
All the best,
Nick
