Dates is one of the most nutritious foods on earth. It contains natural sugar and has lots of benefits to health. Dates is also used as a natural sweetener for cooking and making sweets.

Dates has been a part of religious teaching in Islam. Our Muslim brother's and sister's need to break their fast with dates (if not available, they should break their fast with water).

Breaking your fast with Dates helps to stabilize glucose levels in your body from fasting. It is easily digestible and helps to satisfy the hunger, So it prevents excessive eating. It is a natural sugar that are high in fiber, magnesium and other essential nutrients needed for the body.

Dates is the national fruit of the UAE (United Arab Emirates). It is planted everywhere across the country.

Dates can be eaten Fresh or Dried. Fresh Dates may be soft to semi soft and has moisture. It can stay fresh for up to 8 months when refrigerated in an airtight container.

While Dried Dates has a lot less moisture. It is dehydrated and dried. It has a longer shelf life that can last a year if refrigerated in an airtight container.

I love dates with milk, .. especially the medjoola and Ajwa varieties.. they don't feature high on the GI index either which is surprising considering they can be quite sweet. good post.

In Middle East Dates is one thing available in abundance and yes having it regularly is very good for health. Thanx for sharing.
