My Favorite Cruelty-Free Makeup and Skincare Products!

in vegan •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday!

I’m a huge makeup and skincare junkie. I’ve always loved creating looks with makeup and experimenting with products! Makeup has really been an outlet for me to express myself. (dis shizz is good!) Today, I’d like to tell you guys my favorite cruelty-free beauty products and recommend a few brands! It’s 2018 and can you believe animal-testing is still a thing? It’s so cruel! These animals are stripped away from their lives and reduced to testing products as if they're inanimate objects. This is why it’s so important to support cruelty-free brands. While it may sound corny, we the people truly have the voice. Over the last few years, the demand for cruelty free products has risen and companies are listening to us! As long as we voice our demands, we consumers have power over these companies, after all, we buy their stuff!

I will be starting with my fave skincare products and then on with my favorite makeup! Scroll on down if you'd like to read about my favorite makeup first!

I struggle with oily and acne prone skin quite often ( I pray for the day my skin stops breaking out). My favorite cleanser to combat this is the Origins Checks and Balances. I’ve been using this cleanser since my middle school days, and it’s really a great product! It lasts long and a little goes a long way!

After cleansing my face, I usually like to use a toner. I’ve recently been so in love with Mario Badescu’s Rosewater spray! (this stuff is like liquid gold tbh). I literally swear by this stuff. It always makes my skin feel so renewed and refreshed. To all you hikers, you know that great feeling you get when you’re on top of a mountain after hiking up it? This is like that but in toner form! It comes in an 8 oz bottle and I use it typically every morning and night. It also works as a makeup setting spray if you're going for a dewy look!

Another toner I like to use is Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner. This is another product I swear by. Witch Hazel has been known to be helpful for those with acne prone skin. It is extremely soothing and it helps reduces redness from acne!

Every weekend, I usually have a night where I use a mask, as a way to get ready for the next week. For the past year, I’ve been using Health and Beauty’s Aztec Indian Healing Clay! I got it for sale last year and it comes in a big tub and I’ve been using it weekly ever since! All you have to do to activate the mask is use some apple cider vinegar and mix with a non-metal spoon. The mask is 100% natural and does wonders for those with problem skin! After using this mask I recommend using a moisturizer though because the clay can dry your skin out a little.

My current favorite moisturizing cream is the Origins Ginzing Moisturizer! The product smells AMAZING. It smells like fresh oranges and lemon and jfldksjflsj ya girl is hooked. As well as smelling like a freaking garden of eden (ok maybe i’m exaggerating a little but i love this product so much), it moisturizes your skin without making it oily! This is again, great for those with annoying problematic skin like me who break out the second a skin product is oily. :)

OKKKKKK ya’ll! Now on to my favorite makeup products!!!

My current favorite foundation is Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filtr foundation. This stuff is good ya’ll. It comes in all shades (bless RhiRhi for having a diverse selection!), and works like magic on the skin. All her products are cruelty-free, and the foundation is 100% vegan!

For a concealer, I have been using Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. The product is 100% full coverage, and as someone who has hellish under-eye bags at times (dem midnight study and tv marathon sessions man), this product is a life-saver! As well as being full coverage, it’s also waterproof for them rainy days and doesn't form those crusty creases! It’s definitely a really good concealer on top of Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer.

For my everyday eyeshadow, I’ve been basic and have been using Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance Palette. I mean I’m definitely not a morning person and while i’d love to create looks in the morning, my brain is like “nO go to sleep hun!” This palette is super versatile and makes simple and pretty fall/winter looks. The product is very pigmented and easy to blend as well! I love Anastasia’s brand and will be investing in more of their eyeshadows!

For more fun looks, I’ve been using Morphe’s Jaclyn Hill and Urban Decay’s Heavy Metals palettes. Both brands are 100% cruelty-free and their eyeshadows are so fun to play with! The Jaclyn Hill palette has a variety of colors and their greens are super pretty! The Heavy Metals palette is full of lovely glittery colors and has been a great addition to my palette. I hope to get Morphe’s 35b and 39A as well as future investments!

I loooooove eyeliner. It tops off every look! I’m a big fan of felt tipped liquid liners as opposed to any other ones. For the past few months, my go-to daily eyeliner is Stila’s Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner. This stuff glides on easily and is super pigmented! The only draw back to it though is that it dries out rather quickly, but it’s worth it in my opinion.

HIGHLIGHTER!! I loooooove highlighter (both the pen and the makeup). The stuff that makes your face glow and if you’re like Bretman Rock, your ears too. My favorite highlighter palette at the moment is Anastasia’s Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit! I love all the colors, but my daily go to is the “Glo-Getter” shade. All of Anastasia’s Glow Kits are hella beautiful and the perfect pigmentation. Even if it’s not a sunny day your face will be glowing like a star! I kid you not, I just opened my front camera and it’s relatively dark in my room, and my face still got that glow!

Last but not least, my favorite mascara is Wet n Wild’s Max Volume Mascara! It’s extremely affordable, and provides full lashes. It’s also waterproof if you get the waterproof version!

Good info! My Dads dreadlock shampoo is cruelty and animal free, if anyone is having trouble finding shampoos they might try searching this way. #help #howto #together #dreadlock #support #shampoo #crueltyfree

These are great! I'm curious about the clay. I'm going to try it. Love all of the suggestions. Fenti doesn't have my color in stock when I look for it, so I'm still using Kat Von D, but I'm dying to try the foundation.

Yeah the clay is great! Hope fenty comes out with more colors :) Kat has good products though!

Thanks for sharing! I am always looking for new skincare recommendations and it helps to see what other people use! Have you tried Stila's Lip Stain?

Hi! I have not! Is it any good? Their liquid lipsticks are lovely though :)

That is what the lip stain is too, so you probably have tried it! They are so nice and they stay on all day! My friend introduced me to them. :)

Yeah!! That’s one of my favorite things about them :)
