Thousands of Thai people rode their bicycles on the streets of Chiang Mai and all over Thailand in 2015. It was an event to celebrate Mother's day and pay tribute to the Queen. You can see here in the photo an old guy between bunch of cyclists riding his samlo too. These three wheelers are still used as a taxi by locals or some of the tourists. Though younger generation of thais are choosing to become tuk tuk drivers letting samlos to become the thing of the past since the youngest samlo driver is well over 60 years old.
