This 142.044 series steam locomotive is part of the Romanian national-cultural patrimony, included in the treasury category.
It was made in 1938 by Resita Factories and Fields, upon a licence bought from the Austrian Railways in 1936.
Started to function in 1939 and operated until 1970 when it was removed from service.
During 1970-2006 the locomotive functioned within the Railway Tourism Society as a tourist and an old time train.
It was called off for good in 2006.
