Maracaibo
The Catatumbo lightning is a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the Lake Maracaibo Basin in Venezuela, mainly in the southern part of the lake and in the lower basin of the Catatumbo River, from which it derives its name. Scientists at the Center for Scientific Modeling indicate that it would be most appropriate to talk about Catatumbo's lightning flashes, since they tend to occur in multiple sites every night, but from a distance they are seen as a single phenomenon.
