A former head of Venezuela's intelligence services announced on Thursday his opposition to President Nicolás Maduro and his support for Juan Guaidó as president in charge of the country.
Hugo Carvajal, who is a deputy of the National Assembly for Chavismo and describes himself as an "authentic Bolivarian soldier," made the announcement through his Twitter account, where he published a series of messages and videos.
The former military and politician called the re-election of Maduro as "usurpation", so he said that his desire is to back Guaidó, because he said that in his country there is a "dictatorial system of government designed to plague the people of misery."
