Venezuela intends to add support for bitcoin and Litecoin wallets to the national payment platform Patria. According to the authorities, thanks to this, residents of the country will be able to officially receive transfers in cryptocurrency.
According to the publication in the Patria blog, the implementation of support for bitcoin and Litecoin on the platform is planned to be carried out by adding the corresponding pairs for their exchange for the national cryptocurrency Petro. The publication also contains information on "the commissions for the exchange of assets and payments". It is assumed that commissions will be charged for all transactions using bitcoin, Litecoin or Petro.
"In a few days, some of these features will be available to a limited number of users for testing purposes. The Patria platform will gradually add these and other services, " the publication says.
When describing the possibilities of withdrawing funds from bitcoin and Litecoin wallets, Patria States that this can be done through the PetroApp application. Thus, customers who want to take advantage of payments in BTC and LTC will probably not be able to avoid the national cryptocurrency.
Earlier, residents of Venezuela said that the authorities are deliberately deceiving them by imposing Petro.
