NOTHING MATTERS?
Selfishness
Egoism, which is governed by the exaggerated "self-interest", is more common than it seems to be, and almost all of us (I say "almost" for not exaggerating) walk through life daily complaining about the selfishness of others, without thinking what "normal" that word turns out to be for ourselves.
In fact, many times we think only of our own "I", without caring about others, and without realizing we usually initiate and cultivate selfish and arrogant attitudes.
In this sense, if for some reason we realize the fact or someone makes us a wake-up call, we shield ourselves thinking or saying that it is probably because they taught us to be selfish.
Is selfishness really and totally natural and intrinsic in our lives and is it part of human nature, associated with the survival instinct?
With the previously detailed, in no way I am justifying selfishness, I simply want to stress without hypocrisy of any kind, that apparently we humans are naturally selfish.
A way to show evidence, a continuation transcribing a small list of "things or selfish tastes" that we think, say, feel or do very often:
1.- Directly or indirectly, we like to hurt others, but we do not like to be hurt.
2.- We love to scold and punish others, but we hate to be punished and/or corrected.
3.- We are passionate about being praised, respected and loved, but we are incapable of respecting and giving value and affection to our fellowmen
4.- We like that they give us a gift and fill us with details, but we refuse to give even a small detail.
5.- We love that they treat us well and speak beautifully to us, but we are rude, bad educated, offensive and arrogant when talking or discussing.
6.- When we are eating well, we forget or even criticize the hunger that many are going through.
7.- How easily we mock the "falls" and other penalties.
8.- We are very annoyed by the authoritarianism of those who have the "power", but we have a minimum power to perform humility and behave in a worse way.
9.- If we intend to help someone, we always look for any minimal excuse or something that we do not like about that person to justify denying the help; but we want all this moment to help us for almost everything we do or need.
If you still do not have an account of this, the informant that selfishness will always have the intention of satisfying the personal needs of those who practice it, regardless of whether it is right or wrong doing it, only about the motivation of their own self. " To end:
How can we be more humble and honest, leaving aside selfish, hypocritical and arrogant attitudes?
