It was a disaster... four days give or take living in the darkness, no electricity, food was short, no water, people daying... Thursday 7 of March, about 5 pm electricity went out at the national level, at first we thought it was normal, electricity always fails for a couple of hours constantly, but this time it was different, in the third night we were sitting outside, me, some friends and my girlfriends family, and starting hearing people hitting pans, others were burning rubbers, even saw a guy running with a torch, an ambulance with the lights on and playing a revolution song "este gobierno va a caer" (this government is going to fall), it was like being in the movie "the purge", meanwhile that was happening where I was, in my moms house, they were hearing shots and people screaming, guys were plundering a commercial center outside the residency, that was madness.
In the fourth night, we went to my mom's house, because is safer there, and in there was an electricity generator that powers the lights so we could charge our phones and lamps. Well, that just lasted like three hours when the generator got in fire, and everybody was running for water (which we were running low because all of the water tanks were sub-terrain, and used electric pumps to sort in all the houses) and dirt, that was something... but we extinguish the fire and everybody were ok.
Those were some of the crazy experiences that i had... In other places i know it was worst, apocaliptic i would say.
It lasted four to five days give or take, and today, almost a week later is when my internet got back, I'm sharing this cause I think is important to show what are the conditions we Venezuelans are living in this dictatorship.
This is us in the night xD
