If there's one thing I can say about this book - it is that it's all-encompassing. No part of the VC industry is left out: from angel investing to funds-of-funds, to any of the minutia that goes into deciding on an investment. There's even plenty of advice for recruiting and training people inside the VC space, which I didn't expect.

The writing is sometimes a bit condescending, explaining terms that are basic enough as to be a given, but other than that the book delivers quite well on the lower intermediate rungs of the VC ladder. From early history to the latest in life sciences and tech investments, the information herein contained will do just fine for any aspiring reader.

I'm particularly impressed by the level of interviewing and relationships the author seems to have - from Andreessen Horowitz to Sequoia, Kleiner-Perkins, Battery and many others. The insights by these people show that it's a demanding, ceaseless and immensely challenging field - one that I'd be interested in joining some time in my life.
