Support US Veterans with Crypto

in veterans •  7 years ago

Veterans are notoriously known for being mistreated when they come back to the US mainland -- without access to jobs, their military paycheck, and often coming back with shell-shock, it's estimated that 22 veterans a day commit suicide.

GrowingVeterans.org seeks to change that by being a non-profit centered around giving veterans food and the social networks they need to return back to a normal life. From their About Page, they've:

  • grown 91,000 lbs of food
  • donated 26,000 lbs of food
  • logged 10,804 volunteer hours
  • trained 71 people using Peer Support model
  • supported on average 23 people per Peer Supporter within first three months of training

Their client veterans report:

  • 87% increased purpose & belonging
  • 91% satisfaction in professional & skill development
  • 74% improved communication skills
  • 82% made new friendships
  • 78% getting more physical activity

My brother was a US Marine for 21 years and he has told me many stories where his marine brothers committed suicide or have been seriously disabled and it's heartbreaking to hear. But moreso it's horrendous that our government can't get it's act together enough to help those who put their lives on the line for us. Thank you for your post. Growingveterans.org sounds like a very worthwhile organization and I will donate.

Much appreciated :) I have a couple of vet friends too and they say it's obviously no joke out there, many of them are thrown off of the balance with no hope of return because they're not cared for and understood by people close to them. I like what this company is doing because it allows them to be exposed to other vets with similar backgrounds, which gives them back that sense of brotherhood they once had in battle, minus the battle.
