I am trying to start a new Steemit community that will benefit active-duty military and veterans #veterans. After some input from Steemit Pros, I want to change the tag to simply #veterans. Please check out, support and RESTEEM my first two posts dedicated to this new community:

As a veteran myself, I have seen first-hand the sacrifices that these dedicated men and women endure for us. I served four years active-duty Air Force where I was a K-9 Military Police Officer.
My reason for starting this community is simple. I have a deep found respect and admiration for active-duty military and veterans and have always wanted to help this group. Steemit has given me the platform to do so. There are many active-duty military and veterans living in poverty. There are over 500,000 homeless veterans in a country where we talk so much about supporting the troops, but in reality these people are completely forgotten about once they leave service. There are WWII veterans that have to choose between eating and buying their medication. It shouldn't be this way!
If you are an active duty military member, veteran, family or friend of someone serving or that has served, or somebody that supports this group as I do, please help me to get this community up and running. Post an intro, share a story of a special veteran in your life, or whatever you would like to share using the tag #veterans. If I can get this group up and running, I want to use it to give veterans a place to support each other, but most importantly, I want to use it to raise money for active-duty military and veterans in need.
Please help me to get the tag #veterans created so we can use this platform to its fullest potential and help others in need. Please RESTEEM these posts. This cause is really important to me, please help to get the word out! If we can help ease the burden on one veteran, it will be worth it. Once I get this group started, I have a veteran in mind that I will be sharing his story and hopefully raising money for him and his family as they are going through a difficult financial time and illness.

Excuse me but I think that you are a killer. Because of people like you there are wars. If you wouldn't have joined the army there would be no conflict. I met ex-soldiers who never can undo what they did. It creates a lot of pain within people which is totally normal because one doesn't kill other people. If veterans have problems it is because they chose to do what they did. How anyone cangive you respect for what you did is beyond my understanding.I for example went to the army to tell them to fuck off! (that was because when I was young every man had to join the army - mandatory - if he didn't say that he was a pacifist). Oh man.

I am tolerant and talked to a general of the dutch army while in cambodia. He was a good man and we shared a bottle of red wine. Still I am sticking to my statement. If every individual says no to joining the military (sorry if I mix up words, military, army, to be a soldier, I don't know the difference), then there would be no war. To shame people who join the military is in my opinion the right way to tackle this worldwide problem of people who make money by killing people. Yes, I don't know why you joined and I want to be your friend like I want to be the friend of all good people.
Edit: I met people who had to pretent to be mentally ill in order not to join (israel) while people like you get a fat paycheck and everything is set, they travel where they want. How much makes a soldier a year?

I understand where you are coming from, but I think you are directing your efforts towards the wrong people. Although, it is your right to do so. But even if people did not voluntarily join the military, governments would force them (like they did to you). I hardly got a fat paycheck while I served. The lower ranks do not make a lot of money. You are confusing the everyday soldier with politicians and generals. Although we do not agree with each other, I thank you for your comments.

What is so sad is that they break the geneva conventions (white phosphorus is only allowed to create smoke barriers not to burn people) In the case of the US you also have torture and the use of other countries airports to kidnap people and bring them to torture facilities. Operation Menu, freedom deal. Additinally they teach people not to be racists while they educate them but higher ranks say camelfuckers and other words to people from the middle east. In the case of hitler germany they knew about the concentration camps and the killing of people on a massive scale and only came to destroy germany because hey were threatened and not to safe the people. They shot people while they were working on the field and created firestorms where people melted into the streets even though all men over 15 or so where already at the fronts. And now

Governments and central bankers will always force wars on nations to bring about their agenda. It has been that way for centuries. I think you are confusing my support for military members and veterans as if I am pro-war. I am not. I am very much anti-war. I do not like what has been going on in the middle east over the last fifteen years. I believe that our government entered war under false pretenses. You stay calm and communicative, thx. I wish you success with your project. I know that I could have been you if my mother wouldn't have raised me to be a 'defense only killer'. Of course I will protect myself when someone pushes me in the corner. I would never work for an institution which takes away my choice. As a soldier - when not going to duty - you will go to jail. This alone is enough reason not to join. To be anti-war in a countries' military which is known to break laws is not enough. You should be anti-military in this case or anti-government. But that's easier said than done. My plan is to outcast all military members worldwide. I understand that there are families with a long tradition in the military. I will not stop to carry on the tradition of my family in order to stop the madness. That's why I followed Dan. To make peace more profitable than war. One day the people who decided to join a countries military will be in the minority. I almost joined the police because I am a helpful person and luckily started to smoke weed which showed me that I could never be a person who hunts peaceful people by order. On the other hand I like the idea to have a pool for all people who are not able to think for themselves so they can be held in check. In my experience mostly nationalists and nazis join the military and police. A peaceful revolution starts small and once there are enough people the military and police will join the masses. Please join the worldwide abolition of governments, countries and therefore the need to protect borders. It's not too late.
