If you would like to help Veterans with regard to health care, might I respectfully suggest this: Allow Veterans to defer private health insurance available through employers to their spouses. Here's why...
We have health care through the VA, and we are faced with a choice. Pay for private insurance to be able to get health care insurance for our spouses, or use our VA insurance and we can't use our company health insurance for our spouses; not to mention having to pay for an extra policy that we don't need.
If we were able to use our VA health benefit and cover our families through our employers it would save us thousands of dollars a year, and our employers would save the cost of contributing to our health insurance for us. All it would take is to make it a campaign issue and force insurance company to allow us to do this, and countless Veterans who earned our health care benefits by serving our country would take notice with a great degree of gratitude!
Please share this so many times that maybe, just maybe, it comes to his attention!
