I'm sorry for this.
I'm still at war with myself, whether or not Victor and Yuuri sees their relationship as a romantic one. I mean, they haven't really said that they love each other. They just do stuff that they thought would compensate to those words. The engagement rings were a puzzle too. Yuuri stated that they were just lucky charms for the GPF. I think Victor just jokingly announced the engagement to tease Yuuri.
But who am I kidding. They're definitely in love with each other. If you think about it, you wouldn't be that passionate about doing stuff for someone if you don't have feelings for them. I mean, Victor freaking hugs Yuuri from time to time, and they're so lovey dovey that you can't even think of a better way to put a label on it.
I think my doubts just spring up because their relationship is not really completely absorbed by the norms of society. I guess in the anime universe, people tend to be open minded about this kind of stuff. But anyways, I think the word to describe Victor and Yuuri's relationship is PURE.
It's pure because they don't really have to say those three words to each other to get a clue about their true feelings. I mean Victor can say those things but Yuuri doesn't have a good way with words. I guess performing passionately and perfectly is Yuuri's way of compensating to his lack of confidence to say those words. Which makes their relationship so pure that even words cannot express how deeply they feel for each other.
Now that the end is closing in, Yuuri thought that ending things would be better. Maybe because if he doesn't win the GPF gold medal, that would mean that his love for Victor is not strong enough and that ending things sooner would be better for both of them. But I don't think Victor would let that slide. I think, even if Yuuri doesn't do good in the last FS Victor won't budge. Because Victor knows that Yuuri can do no wrong even if he doesn't win. Skating brought them together and created their relationship with harmony with the songs in their hearts. GPF is just a competition. The gold medal is just a thing. But their love for each other is bigger than anything. They may not say those three words to each other, but they know that words cannot express how they have set fire to each other's hearts. Nothing can stop them now. It's the moment of truth.
