Can't say I have been into the whole Marvel cinematic universe.
Especially, ever since Disney took over and now makes the films seem...well, like Disney characters. But that's not to discredit anything that has been done on Netflix lately. Because if you have seen any of these shows they seem to stand out in comparisons to the movies. Naturally gritty with a very serious tone that can't be overlooked if you are an adult hoping to accept this as some form of entertainment. I'm sure everyone doesn't feel that way and I for one am jumping on board as far as being over the whole super hero genre.
But to be fair my reasons are just so I don't waste my time watching something that won't stay true to its source material.
Mainly, Batman V Superman caused me to think this way after feeling as if my child hood was ruined by this movie. Yes, that is a statement coming from a once teenage comic book collector. I would have never thought it took one flop to change my perspective on this niche but surprisingly it has. In fact in some ways I feel as if I may have even outgrown the genre when feeling a little bit too old to be watching the new Spider Man Homecoming. Which is clearly geared towards a younger crowd while giving adults a little Iron Man to make it tolerable.
At some point I can see serious actors turning down future roles if this trend keeps up.
Still, there's the Netflix version of Marvel which I have to say is not the best but had a strong starting point. I can't say it hasn't had its problems in this department but I feel like the realistic take at least makes up for what's been lost. So no, I am not a fan of the line up shows they had. Yet, for the first time I feel captivated by the new Defenders series that will be released soon. Which, surprisingly wasn't even the cause of the original promotion and happened to be sparked by a video maker named Cantrous. Who made a pretty convincing AMV video showcasing the many characters that will be featured on this show.
Now, I'm sure all of you must be like "Dude, who cares about some made up fan made trailer"?
But, I say to you that it's obvious the climate of good entertainment has been dwindling lately. Not because it's summer and there ain't nothing but reruns but because of Hollywood's repetitive film making, TV's reliance on endless reality shows and the lack of heart going into anything else that's different. That is fact and so I mention this video because I'm saying that maybe this show might actually be worth our wild. Maybe, we do have some slots worth checking out that aren't cringe and make people feel adolescent.
In fact I would go as far as saying this videos view point brings me back to that feeling we got when watching the first Iron Man and Avengers films, Inspired. Because isn't that what superheros are supposed to be about?
So check it out and let me know if it has got your attention or if you are still tiered of the whole superhero movement. Because I have to say I'd never thought I'd be invigorated by it again.
To be honest I am sorta tired of the super hero stuff.. I mean don't get me wrong I even recently bought a Wonder Woman shirt just because but yeah I think it has been way over played way too long! UPVOTED RESTEEMED
