44 Tapes to Glory

in video •  5 years ago

I just listed a lot of 44 VHS video tapes on ebay, penny auction, no reserve. They are shipping media mail within the US, which is about $15 shipping.

My kids had a lot of fun helping me lay the tapes out on the table to take pictures - these are movies? They were quite impressed with the black shiny tape inside the cartridges. They didn't quite buy my explanation that we didn't need these anymore because we don't have the machine to play them, and we have all the movies on the computer anyway.

There are some fun movies here. A lot of classics and some oddballs - Pootie Tang on VHS anyone?!?

I almost had second thoughts looking down at all the covers. Maybe I could make wall art out of them? But then, nah, these have been sitting in boxes for years gathering dust and maybe somewhere out there someone with a VHS player might actually watch them. On the off chance that someone is you, I figured I should post the ebay listing link here.

What a nice photo (and list), @carlgnash! Most of them, such a classic movies.

That's quite the stash of VHS tapes there! I still have a few of them left, although I no longer have a player.
I used to repair VHS players, among other things, for a living back in the day...

All of the greats!
A spledid collection.....
Now watch it on your phone. ;P

Great collection you have there! I 've seen many of these films too.
