For me, Psycho, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Blob, the Men with the Atomic Brains were childhood scare fests. Always loved the early Godzilla, Rodan and other s from Japan where radioactivity caused these mutant gigantic creatures. So strange that Japan now has a radioactive calamity. I guess the Omen and the Exorcist are classics and really scary. Still love to be scared!
