Hi STEEMIT! I'm Blake Kirby A.K.A Daddykirbs

I'm on lots of other sites and have to admit I wasn't very interested in joining another when a friend suggested Steemit. However now that I've had a look around I'm very excited to participate! The platform here is way cooler (and less cluttered) than some of the others. I've added a few posts already to just see how it works. It's fun.

My story (short version) is that I am a man that discovered gardening sometime around 2009. I practiced a few different techniques in my small suburban backyard. One of the early projects that got me hooked on growing was an Aquaponics system. Here's the video that shows my attempts at making something work out of the junk I had available.

Later I moved my family out from the suburban neighborhood to a small farm about 10 miles away. It was a dream come true and the beginning to many many adventures. I had no idea what was in store for me. Along the way I turned into a YouTuber as well LOL. I have made many many mistakes, but haven't ever been afraid to share them. I believe that we all can learn from each others mistakes. Here's one where I display some horrible skills using a tractor mounted post hole digger.

Somehow along the way I've learned a few things and people started watching. My audience is full of wonderful people that have encouraged me during some challenging times. Around the end of 2016 I had some moments in my life where I came to grips with my own humanity, my faults and my inability to be in control and "perfect". Some of those feelings were expressed in this video.
