Winter Woods & A Dickert Rifle

in video •  7 years ago  (edited)

Shooting the Dickert of its first day on a woods walk. I regret now showing you the rat hole "one ragged hole" group this Rice barrel put on paper as the day started out. Incredible. So far, I worked out to a 80 grain FF load with a .015" bear greased patch and a .530" RB. It was a very humid, damp, wet, moist, soggy day and the flint on the lock is the one it came with. I replaced the flint today with a larger dark gray English flint from TOW that showers sparks like the 4th of July. Enjoy the video and thanks for watching! Be sure to check out the other flintlock videos!

There is an indescribable calm that comes with the methodical loading ritual of these fine firearms... ....a meditative, zen like state is achieved when interacting with these finely fashioned pieces of steel and wood. ... Traditional muzzleloading is a vacation from the norm a reprieve from modern chaos." -Denny Ducet
