I live in the Netherlands myself. Just some thoughts about this issue.
For some reason we barely here more about the treats that Erdogan made to the Netherlands. On Twitter I see more and more tweets of people who think this was all just a big game to prevent PVV (Geert Wilders party) from becoming the biggest party in Holland.
The Turkish community planned a demonstration today in Rotterdam. They got permission, but suddenly the organizers announced that they cancelled the demonstration because they are afraid there will be violence.
Something smelly about the whole situation.

Sorry for the delay in my response and thanks for commenting. I keep hearing from locals that the media tends to under report and under play what's really going on. Whether it be refugees, immigration, or foreign relations. I think that theres a space for caution but coddling people doesn't help them either.
