Video: I Steem and don't have to wait on the Government for work: Hundreds of unemployed persons scrambling for jobs today.

in video •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today Sept 8th 2017 on Stadium Road, Port Harcourt as I was returning from the printer on the way to @stach Hub.

I happened on a very huge and massive crowd of well dressed people struggling to get into this premises and they actually are all over the place even causing traffic.

I had a chat with one of the men (a teacher) you see in the video and he told me that they have been having it hard searching for jobs that aren't even there. He told me he was unattended to because of his age as they are now setting age limits for them.

Sad I must say. I wouldn't want to get older and still be searching for a job.

So for those of us on Steemit, make the best of your time here and keep moving, the younger and more intelligent crowd is coming and it will be a shame to be run over.

Make the world a better place for someone today!

Gracias mi amigo. Steemit me consigue y me gusta el hecho de que estoy aquí en este momento y de aprendizaje.
Hope I got it right? lol!

Eso es genial. Que padre.

Powerful post on the power of Steemit. Wow. I'm so glad you're representing Steemit. :)

Thank you. This is mostly all we do now.

Sad!

Nigeria will become a better and stronger nation soon.

It is a better and stronger nation already, we just need to be a better and stronger people.

Wow... This is a new understanding.. We are getting there! ☺

Information is key, if only they have the info we have am sure many wont be on the streets scrambling for jobs. Secondly Nigerians really needs to changr their memtality of waiting on government to do everything for them. We should take responsiblity for ourselves and things will change for the better.

Information really is key and getting to know what to do at the right time is key. The government never works for the people, it is only the people who do the work and the earlier that is understood, the better.

Thanks for showing the real world scenario of job hunting in Africa.
I am in Uganda, but such scenes are popular here too.

There are times when people are interviewed for jobs in our 40,000 seater National Stadium!

Let me hope some were curious to ask you why you were recording a video and happy when all of them were desperate?

Let us keep Steemin on however hard the start may be.

So for those of us on Steemit, make the best of your time here and keep moving

Thank you for your comment. It was like a circus there and when I started filming, the man I spoke with before posting the article asked me and I told him I am a Steemian and he just nodded. lol!

This post was very informative thank you for sharing

Thank you for reading.

I really like your posts, maybe I'm interested in your post, I wait for your next posting

Thank you so much for the support.

Great motivational content @ejemai time to teach and redirect thinking, and yes make the world a better place.

Thank you Joan. It is a thing of the mind and we must consciously or subconsciously do some good.

Everyone is looking for government work, Nigerians have stopped thinking for opportunities to become employers of labor. Its so sad. Nice post @ejemai

Government work is not for everyone. Getting your hands to doing something towards having your needs met is the real work. Thanks for stopping by.

Upvoted and RESTEEMED!

Thank you.

Hi Ejemai...the condition is same in our country as well...people crave for government jobs...may be there are reasons like job security ,money and other facilities provided from time to time ...and our steemit community is happy with what we are doing..

Hello momi5, the condition is same everywhere. The security the government job provides is shitty, you get given $1 and they take $10. The government and corporate entities are not working for your benefits, instead they make you work for them. Decentralization is what we need and if we are able to get as much as 10% of the online running offline, we will be good.

True ..

good job!

Thanks

I'm afraid a lot of people are going to have to learn the hard way that the days of going to university and getting a job after without any issues are gone. Unless you can produce something or make money yourself it's going to be very difficult in a few years time to stay employed.

Too many people getting degrees that aren't worth anything sadly and not making sure to diversify and get different skillsets.

Agreed!!!
Time to re-purpose those revolution factories into institutions of higher learning. Trade schools are a much better choice in the US right now but like @ejemai it's even better to just do your own thing.
@ejemai Thank you for this post.

@mjsnisk8er You are correct. I think that is the more reason why we need to do everything we can to decentralize the offline so that people can start thinking differently.

@lethn1 Getting an education is key, but I think many are mostly getting educated and failing to get an education in the real sense of the word.

That's the Nigeria we live in. Hope you invited him to steemit?

I did invite him to Steemit and he said

my pikin, make you leave that mata, wetin I wan write.

Nigeria will get better, I know it.

It's really sad the way my people have conditioned their minds that FGN must do everything for them. They could be employers of labour instead of seeking for employment. Anyway, not everyone has that employer of labour mentality. That was a good live video, @ejemai. I see what you are doing in #stach and sincerely wish to see more of our girls from Edo State in steemit. Keep the steemit flag flying! Well done!

Thank you @maryfavour. Getting out of that employer of labour mentality takes guts and a determined mentality. Many are not cut out to be employers of labour, but I am very aware we all have it in us to do some good even while working for the govt. It is my desire to have more ladies getting on Steemit and we are starting a program soon that will reward people who get women on Steemit. Weldone on your venture as well.
