I guess being very active on steemit is the success of every minnow out there. Because people who are very active whales will add them into their auto upvote list because they want curation rewards from your posts because since you are very active.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Of course, if that happens you can cosider yourself lucky. But I also find it very dangerous. I was on an auto-list from @snowflake for a few days and I started to lower my quality because I knew I would get a few Dollars for whatever I do. So I produced a little bit more and enjoyed the show. It made me a bit lazy and also depending on the upvote. When he stopped I was crushed at first but now I am super happy that I have to work for my money. I guess it is a double edged sword. Who doesn't want to take the money, right?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

Agree with you. When people vote whatever the content we post it makes us less creative and lazy. We must do some hard work and it will pays off for sure. .

I never auto upvote.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

yes its good to manually curate! Upvoting gains you followers in an organic process and manual curation can be profitable too! when you have a lot of steempower you end up making good profit off curation, so much more than new users would ever assume! new users have no idea what curation even means! very few have any way to understand how curation even works until they see it first hand!

so its very important we have users like you on steemit everyday all day upvoting manually because if people just auto upvote we end up with a bunch of low quality content getting upvoted! So its nice that we have manual curation!

people have a lot of misconceptions about steemit and soon the slate will be wiped clean! steemit is now just being gossiped about by a small group who dont know what theyre talking about! i see so many youtube videos where people mention steemit and the top comment on youtube is just some shit talk about ho steemit is controlled by a small few

its really not fair at all, but whatever, people want to make these same claims over and over like game of telephone, people dont like steemit because they dont make enough money but are jealous when others make good money! if THEY make a lot of ,money on a simple post they love it but when they se someone else making "too much" money off a post they make it out to be some fundamental problem with steemit because someone made $100 off a few photos of some flowers lol

People will start to RUSH to steemit when the official steemit app is released!

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

Ya that is because the people who have large audience will naturally make more money than the ones who don't. I do agree that is a bit unfair , but if you look closely the people with great audience have put in that much efforts to create that audience or at least invested in the community. One thing I wan to ask when is the official app coming and will the rules of the official app be different?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

There is not much information about that but it should come within the next few months. I doubt that the rules will be different.

If you see dan's wallet he powering down completely, why do you think he is doing so.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

He probably want to use some of it for whatever. And he worked hard for it and is not even part of Steemit.inc anymore. So when he cashes out the price will sink. But that doesn't matter when the floodgates open and the masses stream in. :)

Is he not the creator of steemit ?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

And I really, really appreciate that. I think it is important that posts are upvoted according to the subjective opinion of the curator. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten that big upvote from you yesterday and maybe never made it into the trending page. Your autoupvote would have given me maybe 5% or 10% and thats it. Well, you gave me 100% because you thought it is a valuable post and obviously many agreed with you on that.

Here is a unicorn for you:

P.S. I think that was your first comment on any of my posts. So, hi there! :)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

That's a nice unicorn :P

Ya auto uvpote is very unfair because some people make hundreds of dollars for posting good night or good morning. Appreciate that @fulltimegeek the community needs more dolphins like you.

Even if you would do that - Just posting in order to get on some auto-upvote-list, seems a little desperate anyways. There will probably not be great success coming from this kind of strategy!

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

Brothers it's just an example. I have explained the real time scenario. So. Chill.

I am totally relaxed ;)

I use autoupvote - but only for Steemcleaners and one or two other services that regulate the website. That seems to me to be a good way of supporting them in continuing to do their work

Cheers

Dude, YOU are my inspiration from basically the first week on. I am sorry for having not engaged much with you because I was so focused on my own posts but I was looking at your profile every other day and I was always impressed by you fire and dedication. You are doing great so far. Sure you can get better but I think you have a great follwership and many people engage with you. I was pretty successful gaining some good upvotes but up until now I was really missing the comments. Well that changed yesterday obviously. LOL

Hier ist dein Tip! von der Minnow Motivation!

DankeschΓΆn :)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

We shouldn't forget that this is also a social platform and actual people use it. Treating other users/people the way we would like to be treated will get us very far in the game.
I have built my business on answering comments on my own website. Now people say to me "Mr Diamantis I see that you know what you are doing, you want to help people, so let's work together".
It's all about the people.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Nice, you are so on point with that. The relations within the network will open up doors everywhere.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Take a Tip!

Thank you .

Nice advices fo true work in steemit.

Nice series of posts - you're on a roll, take advantage of it!!

I have been here just a month now and am really starting to see the benefit of engaging with people directly, certainly via discord groups but also just in general when replying to comments, as you say in this video. I am now trying to reply to all comments on my own posts - which fortunately are not too many yet - with at least a thank you and a small upvote. And I think it definitely helps - time will tell how much...

Am powering back up towards 100% at the moment so am not upvoting this - instead have a tip! 0.5

Cheers

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Wow that is really cool, thank you. I feel you witht he voting power, mine is also dangerously close to 80% - constantly. :D

So right!
Getting to know people on Steemit seems to be the most important thing to do here.

Too bad I'm socially awkward...

See?
Ah man, I better call my therapist...
IT'S HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

PS: If I saw that wasp, I'd run for my life!

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

LOOOOOL. I am following you your awkwardness. Let us be awkward together. :P

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Cool thanks!
But you must know I was joking.
I didn't call my therapist...

Nice you rubbed @bellyrub's secret place !

Yeah and I filmed it as well! ;)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I really enjoyed this video and find your approach to be refreshing! I'm new to Steemit and I feel like I see so many comments that don't really add value to the discussion, such as "Follow me and I'll follow you" etc. I love that you took the time to respond and engage with so many people. This is definitely advice I will keep in mind as I start getting more active on the site and meet more people. 😊 I'm excited to go watch more of your videos!

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Hey @coruscate, welcome to Steemit! I am glad you found my video and enjoyed it as well. Yes, talking in the comments is super important. After all we have no real messaging so how else are we supposed to make the network social? There is mich more to come from me. Count on it.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Take a Tip! for your great comment. :)

Wow, thanks @flauwy! That was really thoughtful of you. I don't think I have seen anyone else use this feature before, but it is a great idea!! I'll have to keep that in mind as I grow my blog and acquire more steem power. :-)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Haha, you are very welcome. Enjoy and come swing back soon. ;)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I agree with your opinion about the whales, people make them seem like their evil sharks ahaha. The whales usually are busy and I have seen personally support from Jerry Banfield he enjoyed a post of mine. If people post something pretty good, it will catch their attention. :)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

Yes and making this mechanic work for the majority of the platform is in the highest interest of the whales. Those who earn 100k SP today will be multi millionairs soon enough. But only if the 99% are happy.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Let us not forget your Tip! ;)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Thx for commenting on the Minnow Motivation. Take your engagement Tip! ;)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Super happy with the payouts already and I can pay my rent from what I get now. But I continue to hustle and work on climbing the ladder as fast as I can. Although I don't really see it like that. Sure the voting pool is limited and eventually there will be a big competition about the top spots when the masses come but I am just enjoying the show and work hard and see where this leads me. But I am starting to realize that I was born to be on Steemit. Everything I ever learned backs up my potential here.
