Experimental tractor 1917 was manufactured in Waterloo Iowa the owners are grant Matthew Lee Thomas and Breanna Gingrich of Dublin Ohio I would like to personally thank the owners of this tractor for recreating this piece of history and then sharing it with everybody that visits the John Deere tractor and engine museum under the supervision of chief engineer Louis Waterloo gasoline engine company engineers experimented with different tractor designs this is one of them it's often referred to that bathtub D because of the size and the shape of its main case even Louis referred to it as the bathtub tractor in 1992 while working at John Deere's old tractor factory site on Westfield Avenue construction workers unearth the bathtub case complete with axles years and crankshaft in 2011 dan thomas father of the current owners grant indiana bought the tractor and meticulously restored it with his brother Barry.
