Hello, for those who know nothing or where to start with video games. Or maybe your not sure if that game is okay for your kids. First the words I will be using and many words the video game world uses. Reminder these are my own break-downs of these terms not looked up.
Co-op-stands for cooperative play. Playing with others.
Couch co-op- you can sit next to someone and play on the same screen.
Online co-op- you must have interent and go online to play with others. May not suit young children for bad language use.
Single player- games most suited for 1 person
RPG- stands for role playing game. A game that usually means you are playing as a charater living out their life.
FPS- stands for first person shooter. You are looking through the eyes of the charater, only able to see their arms/hands, sometimes legs. Usually using guns, or weapons.
Platformer/ side scroller- usually only able to move side to side, not a open world where you can freely roam.
Open world- vast large 3d world where one can freely move about without worying about the main story.
Turn baised rpg- rpg game usually consisting of more then 1 playable charater where the charaters take turns inorder to attack. There are not many of these out there now a days. Most games you have full control of your charater.
These are the main ones for now. There are many types of games and different types and combinations. Some wording in general is easy to figure out like a action/horror/fantasy etc games. Please if you have children, always be aware of the rating of the game on the back of the package. Ratings:
EC-early childhood
E- everyone
T-teen
M-mature
AO-adults only
I hope this was helpful. Thanks.
Well written
