Why You Should Put YOUR MASK On First (My Brain Without Oxygen) - Smarter Every Day 157

in video •  8 years ago  (edited)

I'm sure we've all wondered why airplane safety briefings whenever you travel always say to put on your mask first before assisting people next to you. This video explains why. I got pretty nervous when the guy went all the way down to 61 SvO2 (oxygen saturation) when they at 60% or lower, you can pretty much just spontaneously die. Even when told he would die if he didn't take action to put his mask on, he still couldn't do it. Scary stuff!
