Back to the Future Part III is the final instalment of the Robert Zemekis directed, Steven Spielberg produced series about Marty McFly’s adventures in time. This instalment sees Michael J. Fox’s titular character going back to 1885 to rescue Doc Brown, played again by Christopher Lloyd, from a gang planning to kill him and get them both back to the future. Complications ensue.
Doc Brown falls for a teacher he rescues and they have to correct the timeline as well as get the time machine working and set up a way to get home.
The Good...
The performances are great, across the board.
The setting is a nice change from the 1950s.
The Not So Good...
It is a bit of a retread if the first film with the roles reversed, even down to a gag where Marty repeats lines Doc Brown used in the first and the Doc following behind a la Marty in the original.
The Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson playing every character in their ancestry gets old.
