Thoughts: Division is such an easy tool to keep people confused, in-fighting and avoiding the real issues. This is an interesting video that highlights how eager both sounds have been to divide as opposed to unite. Its not more important what you are against than what you are for.

If you try to please everyone, no one will be happy. Thats the goal of the left.

So, that sounds like a strawman, but assuming its true, then would the corollary goal of the right would be:
"We try to please just some people and most people are unhappy."

Isn't the goal of a democratic society for a more utilitarian output? Aiming to make the most people satisfied?
