Starting a business: “Choosing the name of your business” SteemIt Tips

in video •  7 years ago

Hi, SteemIt friends,

If you’re thinking about starting a business or forming a company to trade under, one of the first hurdles you may come across is choosing a good business name.

This may be tricky, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are a few helpful tips to help you decide what your business name should be.

First and foremost stay clear of already trademarked and licensed names, the last thing you want for your new business is a lawsuit.

When it comes to marketing your business it is best to think long term, your business will eventually grow and diversify over time. Having a name that is able to grow with it will be a great asset for the future.

If you are planning to do business overseas, make sure you’ve checked to see there are no other companies with the same name as you.

Once you have your business name, take some time to gain control of all the available social media handles and domain names for it. Doing this can assist your business in having a better social media presence, and even make the business look more professional to potential clients.

Why stop with the business name?

Creating a logo for your business name can also help your business stand out and be even more memorable. Your logo can be used on your website, social media, letterhead or even in your powerpoint presentation. Example: Detroit company Omni Consumer Products logo used in their 1987 company presentation.

Recently I filmed to Paulo to provide SteemIt users with some useful advice on how he came up with his unique businesses name. Check out the video here:
