The area that I live in is constantly under construction. Mostly this is just a problem with constant noise and it annoys the hell out of everyone that lives here. It is unavoidable for the most part and it doesn't really seem to matter where you live in this area there is likely something being constructed or torn down at all times.
This isn't the only problem though. The other problem is that the sites have apparently very limited restrictions on what they are allowed to do to the surrounding area as well.
Recently a plot near my condo building had a crew come by and tear down an existing structure. They worked fast and furiously to get this job done and they even worked in the pouring rain. Then when they were "done" they just up and left and there has been nothing going on at this place for around a month. Here is the aftermath.
This happens a lot and all over town. When the crew is done with whatever job they were doing they just leave all this detritus lying around all over the place.
Now maybe this seems normal to some people out there but understand that this area is home to a ton of condos and the house in the background is a relatively affluent person who even has a security booth at the main entrance to their complex.
I don't know how they get away with it because if you look at the foreground on the last image you will see paving stones that are part of the municipal sidewalk. Of all the things they destroyed they didn't make any effort to make it look good or even take everything away when they were finished. This eyesore is on display for everyone in the area presumably until someone comes by and starts building something on the land again in the future.
I do not understand why there was such a rush to get the demolition done when in the end the crew just walked away and then did nothing in the way of building anything new.
Unfortunately this is one of the really bad aspects of this country. Nobody seems to be all that concerned about what they end up making the area look like once they are done. It's quite selfish, don't you think?
