I had the pleasure of spending a few weeks in the beautiful little village of Hoi An in Vietnam. I say little but the village has a population of around 120,000! We spent the majority of our time walking among the very ancient buildings and hanging out with the locals in tiny corridors of markets and shops. We saw so many beautiful silk items and the colors were outstanding! I couldn't leave Hoi An without spending an afternoon at the silk worm factory. Watching those little creatures working away making silk for the tourists. It was an amazing time to be there as the lantern festival was in full swing and the thousands of little lights that were placed on the river gave such a beautiful show. Like little lit up lily pads making their way down the water. I will never forget the experience. Once in a lifetime!
