Burning $$$ In Vietnam!!!

in vietnam •  7 years ago

I was walking down the street here in Hanoi yesterday and was shocked when I saw this young man burning US Dollars!!!! How dare he!!!! On closer inspection, it was FAKE money...but you say, the USD IS FAKE MONEY...well, not that kind of fake $$$. So, it is quite common in Vietnam and some other Asian places like Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan and overseas Chinese communities to burn fake money for their ancestors to use in the other world, or other items made of paper, such as shoes, suits and even I-PHONES!!!! How else will they communicate there, right?!?!?
You will see big metal kilns on the street in Hanoi, and they are not garbage cans, they are for burning money for the dead! Vietnam like Korea is a very Confucian country which has "ancestor worship" which is not exactly worshipping them, more like paying respects to them, long after they have left the planet. I can write about this more in another article!
Enjoy the video! Peace from Hanoi, Vietnam. And if you want to buy some FAKE USD$$$ here is a link!
