First test of view.ly

in viewly •  7 years ago  (edited)

I just read a steemit post about view.ly and had to test it :).

The first test was a direct upload from a very small video from my iPhone 6 - that did not work (video format not supported).

However the second test was to try a pull from one of my videos from youtube and that worked great

Actually this is what I always wanted - just a very very simple possibility to post videos quick and reliable.

Maybe regarding their hosting capacity they can talk to the sia people and combine the power of steem and sia for this project :).

However one big issue I guess will be legal ones (copyright, ownership etc) and who is finally responsible for any broken law...

But to the creators: awesome job regarding this is a proof of concept at the moment.

was also interested to try it out but didn't find a link, me is a dummy :)
I think the problem with Sia and Storj is that they are not speedy enough to handle "live streaming". Also I think they are already using IPFS (related to filecoin). Anybody know more?

i just saw the video and it works perfectly fine it good.

Yes viewly is great but I wonder how will copyright videos be dealt with.

Proof of concept means that project is not complete but has potential to grow right?
Yeah, I've heard about the view.ly, it can succeed in future.

Excellent

That's pretty cool! However I agree there will be alot of uncertainty from a legal standpoint; the service will be held accountable for sure when copyright violations will occur, at least partially (look at megaupload, that got taken down, or YouTube, that scans every video with their algorithm(s) in search of copyrignt violation)

wow thanks for telling about in details checking this one out.

i never heard of it before, I gonna look deeper into it. thanks man
